The reality is that if you can buy something brand new for $500 vs. This is why a lot of places have 'B-stock' or 'open box' buys which are at a moderate discount. ![]() Discount places will do this for this reason.ĪFAIK, by law in most states you cannot resell a return as 'new', but I'm guessing if you're selling out of state you can dodge that. If they don't want to deal with that, then they should change their policy to "No returns accepted without 20% restocking fee". If a company advertises a no-hassle return policy and expect to lose money on it, then THAT IS ON THEM, NOT ME. If I buy something as NEW then I expect to receive a NEW item. Seriously, think about it for a second! It's pretty clear. That's silly. Oh sorry, right I forgot we were all still busy fearing large corporations. I thought this was a fairly obvious point but I guess not.you guys are expecting the sellers to LOSE money each time you return something? You want to return the gear you played with a bit and didn't like, get all your money back, and have them resell it at a lower price? That's pretty absurd. Someone has touched your gear before it reaches you, it's all been tested to some extent. But in other cases, I really have no problem with this. In this case, scratched/broken LCD, sticky residue is indeed unacceptable. But I'm talking like MINOR signs of use, and as they clearly specify they want NO signs of use at all, which is doable if you're a responsible customer. With an inventory of thousands of new and used guitars, bass, keyboards, drums, and more, if it rocks, chances are they’ve got it in stock. You have to choose one or the other, and I think the flexibility to return items much outweighs mint-ness. The Musician’s Friend affiliate program allows your web audience to shop, one of the world’s largest music gear and equipment companies online. The idea is that we want to receive this item in new condition and re-sell this item in good faith as new to another customer. What is wrong with that? What are they supposed to do with the returned gear, throw it out? You can't expect a full refund on an item that's been opened and somewhat used, and also expect to receive a flawless item when you buy "new". DO NOT write anything on the box itself, or you may be assessed a restocking fee. Not happy at all!ģ) Please use a shipping label. The Musicians Friend online store is home to the widest selection of the best musical instruments, equipment and technology, as well as exclusive content to. This is unacceptable, and the returns/quality department should be more careful when selling off returned gear.Īnd to top it all off, before inspecting the product, I deactivated my old Maschine through Native Instruments to enter the new serial for the new one. So, I thought that what probably happened was that this was a return, and they failed to inspect the product before slapping a new sticker seal on it, and calling it a new unit again. ![]() Still, this is unacceptable for an advertised NEW product to be clearly USED. In the defense of MF, they handled the situation accordingly, and are sending me out a new one. The LCD screens were full of scratches, there were dents in the faceplate, some sort of sticky residue on the faceplate, and to even further the disappointment, upon powering the unit on, the left LCD screen did not work. Upon opening the item, despite the overall beauty of the drum controller, what stuck out the most were the flaws that I was laying eyes on. After a long awaited few days for my new Maschine MKII WHITE to arrive, it finally came today.
